Engraving on two sheets with later colour.  660 x 960mm. Strengthened folds, two repaired tears in upper margin, but good condition considering the size.
A wealth of information, including geographical detail and explorations. Shows, amongst others, the course of Edmund Halley's sea voyage in 1700 and Magellan's in 1520.
The dedication 'To Edmund Halley. LLD, Savilian Professor of Geometry in Oxford and Fellow of the Royal Society', suggests that the famed astronomer had contributed to the creation of this map.
