[London: Jenner c.1643.]
Engravingwith early colour. 100 x 100mm. Some restoration to both margins.
A miniature traveller's map of Worcestershire, with a table of distances between the Kentish towns, derived from that of Van Langeren and published in A direction for the English traveller
Jenner, a Puritan parliamentarian, had a long career as a printseller, in which he exploited prints as a medium for propaganda. This atlas, published during the English Civil War, would have been of great use to the Parliamentarian army, coming thirty years before the first printed road maps.
