Engraved by Dibdin's daughter Ann and were aquatinted by a Mr. Hill for Dibdin's 'Observations or a tour through almost the whole of England, and a considerable part of Scotland.'
Charles Dibdin (c.1745-1814) is better known as a dramatist and song writer. His sea song 'Tom Bowling' is often played at the 'Last Night of the Proms' as part of Sir Henry Wood's 'Fantasia on British Sea Songs', which climaxes with 'Rule Britannia'.
