This is plate 11 from the second series of Sandby's well known views of Wales.

This second series of views is dedicated to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, who had become very important to Sandby. Not only did Sandby teach Sir Watkin to draw, he became a regular member of the household at Wynnstay in the early 1770s. He was paid handsomely for his time in Wales. The Wynnstay account book shows that on 28th June 1771, Sandby was paid £150 for teaching and forty days at two guineas a day for being away from London.
