Pot Fair Cambridge. The College Gate.
[Etched by Thomas Rowlnadson after Henry Bunbury, published c.1790.]
Etching printed in sepia. 355 x 255mm.
Two satires of life in Cambridge. The Pot Fair is a scene of chaos with dogs running wild and a screaming baby in a pot; the College Gate shows swarms of Divines going about their business on horseback.
Although drawn by Bunbury, the figures have been adapted to Rowlandson's own style.
